From source document to report
A practice company.
Real accounting tasks.
You will work through fictional company records in assigned training environments. Each week ends with evidence of what you completed: a bill register, an aging report, a reconciliation, or a supported journal entry.
Tanbirul Islam will review your work at the end of each month, discuss the decisions behind your entries, and agree on the corrections that will strengthen your next submission.
Designed for accounting students and graduates with basic debit, credit, and spreadsheet knowledge. This is supervised training using simulated records. Software access will be confirmed before enrolment opens.
Your learning path
Four months.
A stronger foundation.
About 40 hours in total. Each month includes a practical assessment and a 30-minute one-to-one review within the weekly workload.
QuickBooks Online
Accounts payable and working controls
Enter supplier bills, resolve exceptions, and prepare a payment run.
Week 01Set up your accounting desk+
Open your assigned practice company. Check the reporting period and chart of accounts; create three suppliers and three customers. Enter the opening balances supplied by your instructor and trace one entry from its source document into the general ledger.
Submit
Opening trial balance, master-data checklist, and a short explanation of the posting trail.
Quality check
Debits equal credits; supplier and customer records have unique names, terms, and document references.
Week 02Process supplier invoices+
Check invoice numbers, dates, terms, coding, and approvals. Enter six bills and one supplier credit. Identify a duplicate and a missing approval before posting. Attach practice source documents and record unresolved items in an exception log.
Submit
Bill register, source attachments, AP aging, and two exception notes.
Quality check
No duplicate invoice is posted. Each bill matches its source and the supplier credit is applied correctly.
Week 03Prepare a supplier payment run+
Reconcile a supplier statement to the AP ledger. Explain one timing difference and one missing credit. Select approved bills due for payment, prepare a payment proposal, and record the instructor-approved simulated payments.
Submit
Supplier reconciliation, payment proposal, and updated AP aging.
Quality check
The proposal excludes disputed bills; simulated payments reduce the correct outstanding invoices.
Week 04Month 1 assessment and individual review+
Complete a 90-minute AP practical using a fresh invoice pack. Meet Tanbirul for 30 minutes to explain your entries and review your result. Use the final 30 minutes to correct your work and submit a learning note.
Submit
Assessment file, corrected posting trail, and feedback action plan.
Quality check
Target score: at least 70%. Resolve duplicate-payment and approval-control errors before passing.
QuickBooks Online
Accounts receivable and bank reconciliation
Invoice customers, apply receipts, and explain every reconciliation difference.
Week 05Raise and correct customer invoices+
Create six service invoices from the practice orders. Check customer details, dates, terms, and supplied tax codes. Issue one approved credit memo and apply it to the intended invoice. Compare the invoice register with the source orders.
Submit
Invoice register, credit memo trail, and AR aging.
Quality check
Invoice totals agree to approved orders; the credit affects the intended customer and invoice.
Week 06Apply receipts and follow up balances+
Apply five customer receipts, including a part payment. Keep an unidentified deposit unresolved until evidence is obtained. Reconcile a customer statement and draft a polite overdue-payment message for instructor review.
Submit
Receipt allocation schedule, customer reconciliation, and follow-up draft.
Quality check
Receipts are applied to the right invoices and unapplied cash is visible. No actual client message is sent.
Week 07Reconcile a bank account+
Match the practice bank statement to the cash ledger. Find a bank charge, interest receipt, outstanding payment, and deposit in transit. Record supported adjustments and complete the reconciliation without using a balancing entry.
Submit
Bank reconciliation, adjustment entries, and outstanding-items list.
Quality check
Adjusted bank and book balances agree; every difference has a date, reference, and explanation.
Week 08Month 2 assessment and individual review+
Complete a 90-minute AR and bank practical. Explain your matching decisions and overdue-balance findings in a 30-minute individual review. Complete corrections and a 30-minute reflection.
Submit
Assessment, final reconciliation, and updated error log.
Quality check
Target score: at least 70%. An unsupported plug or unresolved material difference must be corrected.
Sage Intacct
Accounting across departments
Use dimensions, approvals, and reports to explain where transactions belong.
Week 09Navigate Intacct and code dimensions+
Use your assigned training environment to locate AP, AR, cash management, and the general ledger. Map the practice chart of accounts and code six transactions to the supplied departments. Compare the same costs by account and by department.
Submit
Navigation checklist, dimension-coding sheet, and departmental report.
Quality check
Account coding describes the cost; dimensions describe its organizational context.
Week 10Process AP and AR with approvals+
Enter four bills and three customer invoices, apply one vendor credit and one customer receipt, and submit items through the configured practice approval process. Investigate one rejected bill before resubmitting it.
Submit
AP and AR registers, approval trail, and exception resolution.
Quality check
Only approved items progress. Source references and dimensions survive each step.
Week 11Prepare journals and supporting schedules+
Prepare a prepaid-expense rollforward and a supported accrual. Post approved journal entries, reconcile the control accounts, and compare two departmental reports. Explain any movement that does not match the supporting schedules.
Submit
Two journal packages, prepaid schedule, and a short report commentary.
Quality check
Each journal balances, has a clear reason, and agrees with its supporting schedule.
Week 12Month 3 assessment and individual review+
Complete a 90-minute Intacct practical covering dimensions, AP, AR, and a period-end journal. Review your result with Tanbirul for 30 minutes and use 30 minutes to complete corrections.
Submit
Assessment reports, dimension checks, and corrected journal package.
Quality check
Target score: at least 70%, with evidence that you performed the tasks in your own assigned practice environment.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Daily processing through month-end
Complete a small accounting cycle and present a clear handover to a supervisor.
Week 13Work with vendor and customer entries+
Navigate your assigned company, review the supplied posting groups, and create four purchase invoices and four sales invoices. Preview the effects of posting and trace posted documents to vendor, customer, and general ledger entries.
Submit
Posting-trail screenshots and purchase and sales registers.
Quality check
Source documents, subledgers, and the general ledger agree. Configuration changes require instructor approval.
Week 14Process payments and reconcile cash+
Apply customer receipts and supplier payments using the configured journals. Reconcile the supplied bank statement, identify an unmatched item, and document its owner and next action. Compare this workflow with QuickBooks Online.
Submit
Payment and receipt application evidence, reconciliation, and comparison note.
Quality check
Applications settle the intended documents and the unexplained difference is zero.
Week 15Build a month-end file+
Prepare the practice close checklist, review AP and AR aging, and record approved accrual and prepaid adjustments. Export the trial balance and supporting reports. Write a concise supervisor handover with the remaining issues and deadlines.
Submit
Close file, reconciliation schedules, trial balance, and handover note.
Quality check
Control balances tie to supporting reports and unresolved matters are clearly disclosed.
Week 16Final practical and portfolio review+
Complete a 90-minute Business Central capstone from source documents through reconciliation. Present your best work and explain your decisions in a 30-minute individual review. Spend 30 minutes completing corrections and selecting portfolio evidence.
Submit
Final assessment, corrected close file, and a skills portfolio covering all three systems.
Quality check
Pass all four assessments, submit all required work, attend all four reviews, and resolve essential control errors.

Before you join
Will I personally use all three systems?
The course is designed for individual practice in all three. Licensed learner access and the exact training environments must be arranged before enrolment. Demonstrations alone do not count as completing a hands-on software assessment.
Is this four months of work experience?
It is four months of supervised practical training, with about 40 hours of activity. You can describe your assessed projects and request a training reference. Actual employment or a placement would need to be arranged and documented separately.
How will tests and feedback work?
A fresh practice pack is used at the end of each month. You submit your reports and posting evidence, then meet Tanbirul to discuss your result. One corrected resubmission per assessment is proposed; the final timetable and assessment terms will be confirmed before enrolment.
When does it start and what does it cost?
The first cohort date, tuition, software access arrangements, and booking calendar are being finalized. Enrolment and payment are not open in this draft.
